Police have appealed for witnesses after a cyclist from Sible Hedingham died in a road incident.
The rider, a man in his 40s, is believed to have died from his injuries after apparently losing control of his bike at Lorkin’s Lane, Twinstead, on Sunday.
The man was found at about 3.40pm by as member of the public.
Paramedics and an air ambulance attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed until 9pm while police carried out initial investigations at the scene.
Officers from the Essex Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for information from anyone who may have seen the cyclist at Lorkin’s Lane between 3pm and 3.30pm.
The rider was wearing a cycle helmet, cycling shorts and a blue top. He was riding a road bike with racing handlebars.
