A Braintree vet who ran his own veterinary practice in the town centre has died aged 89.
Anthony Mayo Blyth, known as Tony, and his wife Elizabeth, who both qualified as veterinary surgeons in the 1950s, ran the Blyth and Partners practice in Coggeshall Road for more than 20 years.
The practice and the house, where Tony was born, were later demolished to make way for Sainsbury’s car park in Blyth’s Meadow - a name in recognition of Tony and his family.
The dad-of-three later moved to a farmhouse in Rayne and retired early aged 50.
