Three-way talks are set to talk place about the future of a dangerous footbridge.
The bridge, between Chapel Street car park and Bridge Street in Halstead, was cordoned off by Essex County Council last year because the railings had rusted.
The bridge is owned by the Crown Estate, which has refused to take any action.
County councillor Joe Pike said Halstead Town Council, Braintree Council and Essex County Council are set to meet within the next two weeks to find solution.
