A group of young dancers from a Halstead-based group enthralled worshippers at Chelmsford Cathedral.
They youngsters, from the Bharatanatyam School of Traditional Temple Dance, danced three different parts of the Eucharist: the Hallelujah refrain before the Gospel, the Sanctus and Benedictus and The Lord’s Prayer.
The performance was part of the special Mothering Sunday service on March 14.
The Rev Canon Ivor Moody said: “In a world that seems to be tearing itself apart with religious, cultural and tribal conflict, we were privileged to witness two faiths coming together and the traditions of one being lent to another to enrich and enhance the worship of Almighty God.”
