Hedingham Castle has raised more than £1,400 for charity.

The castle's owners Jason and Demetra, pledged their support for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) in June 2013 with the aim of raising funds and awareness of the charity across the North Essex area.

They have collection buckets at events and gave a stay at The Lodge in the grounds of the castle as a prize in an online EACH auction.

The total raised so far stands at £1,416.96 and the castle has said it will donate £1 from every ticket sold on the gate for The Medieval Siege event on April 5, as well as having collection buckets at its jousting events throughout May, June and August.

Demetra Lindsay said: “Jason and I are delighted to have been working with EACH for the last two years and look forward to helping to raise even more funds for this wonderful charity throughout our forthcoming events season and in the future.”

Jo Colbert, EACH Partnerships Manager, said: “We’re thrilled that Hedingham Castle are continuing to support EACH and the amount they have raised so far it’s really impressive.

“They are a lovely family to work with and the events they host at this beautiful castle are well worth a visit.

“All the funds raised goes towards providing vital care to children and young people with life-threatening conditions across North Essex and support their families.”
