The Four Colnes Horticultural Society has planted 5,000 snowdrops throughout the villages.
Members of the society and other volunteers turned out in glorious sunshine to plant the flowers in five site: Earls Colne primary school, Pound Green in Earls Colne, at White Colne on the green and finally by the telephone box and on the green in Colne Engaine.
English bluebells have also been ordered and these will be planted on the Millennium Green in Earls Colne later this spring, with daffodils to be planted in Wakes Colne in the autumn.
The planting, which took place last Sunday, is funded by the society using proceeds raised through its various activities and aims to enhance the local environment.
Anyone interested in joining the society can find details on the Earls Colne Parish Council website: earlscolne.org
