Schoolchildren are looking forward to trying out new outdoor table tennis tables.

Two new tables were delivered just before half term for students at Ramsey Academy, in Halstead, to enjoy during their break and lunchtimes.

They were funded by the Jack Petchey Foundation and it is hoped they will encourage more children to take up the sport.

The two concrete tables, which cost about £1,500 each, arrived just before half term along with a bag of other equipment, including outdoor bats.

The school already has a club, supported by Chelsea Football Club’s Premier League for Sport, which attracts thirty students every week.
