Braintree Golf Club ladies and nurses from Halstead Hospital
A group of golfers raised more than £7,000 to buy state-of-art equipment for Halstead Hospital.
Members of the Ladies team at Braintree Golf Club in Stisted held several events over the course of a year to buy a standing and raising aid called a SARA Plus for the physiotherapy department.
Captain Geraldine Stuckey said: “Hopefully this will benefit anyone in the community who needs physiotherapy to get themselves up and mobile again.
“Over the year we held a lunch for 50 ladies which raised £800 and an evening with an auction and a raffle which raised over £1,000.”
The device resembles a wide zimmer frame with foot rests, handles and a harness support for waist support and can be used to perform various exercises.
