Plans for a new super surgery to serve three villages could be given a £15,000 cash injection by a parish council.

Sible Hedingham Parish Council is considering stumping up the money for consultants to help GPs draw up plans for the hub to for Sible Hedingham, Castle Hedingham and Great Yeldham.

Parish councillor Andrew Prill said: “We need to get this project initiated and in front of the NHS. We have got to get the process started so we can move forward.

“This is an opportunity that is maybe not being recognised by the doctors. They are totally uninterested in lining their own pockets and are very hard working and only focussed on patient care.

“I think we need a bit of initiative from our end to help them.”

Parish councillors and representatives from the surgeries in Sible Hedingham, Castle Hedingham and Great Yeldham, attended a meeting with NHS England on November 26.

Once plans have been agreed land on the site of the former Premdor factory in Station Road will be transferred to the NHS along with £43,200 from developers to help build the surgery.
