Teenagers have been recognised for mastering challenges in the Duke of Edinburgh awards.

Hedingham Youth Club held a Duke of Edinburgh awards evening at Hedingham School, where 34 pupils from Years 11 to 13 received bronze certificates.

Duke of Edinburgh award participant Lyndon Goff hosted the evening and Jack Edwards, Tom Hele and Dylan Thomas sang.

Essex County Council leader David Finch congratulated the pupils on their achievements.

The participants, who were presented awards by Dave Margery and youth club leader Anne Thrussell, were joined during the evening by their parents, local councillors and members of staff from Essex Boys and Girls Club.

Mrs Thrussell said: “We would just like to say how proud we are of the achievements of this fantastic group of young people and what a pleasure it was to work with them.”
