A footbridge has finally been built after more than ten years of waiting.
The wooden bridge, in Alderford Street, Sible Hedingham, connects Hedingham Riverside Walk to the local public footpath network.
Works, which included building the three-metre bridge, a wall, resurfacing the road nearby and installing railings, cost £135,000 in total, which was paid for out of section 106 money.
Parish councillor Sally Glen said: “The number of years we have been waiting for this bridge for must be in the double figures.
“We are all really pleased that the bridge has finally been built, although there are one or two concerns with the design."
