Witness mesmerising music of a different kind at Halstead’s St Andrew’s Church when a troupe of Maasai Warriors perform there.

This is the 11th year the troupe has toured Britain and during that period they have performed for royalty three times.

Their tours help them raise money for their families in Kenya and other Maasai projects and cash raised from their appearance next month in Halstead will also benefit funds for the upkeep of the St Andrew’s church building.

The display has been arranged by The Friends of St Andrew’s Church, supported by law firm Birkett Long.

Roger Smith, chairman of The Friends, said: “We are all in for a treat. I’m told the Maasai Warriors’ performance is a sensation to watch. They have natural rhythm and are famed for jumping.

“All their performances are narrated and tell a story of their lives. The audience is often invited to participate, too.

“We are really are lucky to have them here, at one of only two performances taking place in Essex.”

Tickets are £10 for adults and £8 for concessions and the performance starts at 7pm on Friday.

They are available from Jan Amos 01787 474650 or Roger Smith on 01787 473138 and Hardy’s Men’s Outfitters in Market Hill, Halstead.
