Halstead teenager raises more than £1,000 for charity
A determined girl is pleased to have raised more than £1,000 for charity.
Sian Lawrence, 15, of Reuben Walk, Earls Colne, shaved her hair off to raise money for St Helena Hospice in memory of her dad Ian Lawrence, who died of pancreatic cancer in 2008.
She handed the cheque for £1,424.67 to the hospice on August 22.
Her sister, Danielle, also shaved off her hair at the event in May at Scenarios in Trinity Street.
She said: “I was really pleased to have raised so much money and quite surprised. I only expected to raise about £1,000.
“It is great knowing the money will go to such a good cause.”
