A teacher is warning that children could be next after a number of ducklings have been run over on a busy road.
Julie Winters, 48, moved into Trinity House last year and was pleased to discover a duck’s nest in her garden, to which a female duck travels every year to lay her eggs as she has done for many years.
Mrs Winters was horrified to learn that the ducklings face a perilous journey after leaving the safety of her garden to get to the park opposite as they have to cross Trinity Street.
She said: “The mother duck had eight ducklings, but now she is down to two. Last week, I found one of the remaining two on my driveway."
