Artistic children at St Andrew’s Primary School in Halstead took inspiration from a 15th century painter.

Pupils have been getting stuck into the National Gallery’s Take One Picture project, in which one painting from the museum’s collection is used to inspire cross-curriculam work in primary schools.

This year’s chosen painting is Saint Michael Triumphs over the Devil, by Bartolome Berjemo.

Headteacher Bridgette Gough said pupils worked on music, dance, drama, creative writing, textiles, photography and art and had their own art gallery.
