As a result of an incident on the M25 in Essex this morning, the road will be closed tonight to repair the damage.
The incident, which happened just before 5.15am between junction 26 and 25, involved two HGVs and led to a diesel spill.
The motorway between junction 27 and 25, on the anti-clockwise carriageway, will be closed from 10pm until 5.30am for resurfacing works.
There will be no access to the anti-clockwise carriageway from the M11 or junction 26.
A diversion will be in place via M11, A406 and A10.
The Highways Agency is taking all possible steps to minimise disruption and will open the motorway as soon as possible.
