A REWARD of up to £5,000 has been offered for information leading to the conviction of Jim Attfield's killers.
Crimestoppers has offered the reward following the murder of the 33-year-old father-of-five from East Bay, Colchester.
He was found stabbed 102 times on a path near Castle Park at 5.45am on Saturday, March 29.
The killers are still at large.
Ann Scott, eastern regional manager for the charity, said: "I cannot
comprehend how someone can stab another person once let alone over
100 times.
"Thinking of what James must have gone through brings me to tears.
"We have to find the person responsible for this horrific murder.
"I would urge anyone with information, no matter how insignificant they feel it might be, or anyone with niggling suspicions they are unsure of to contact us anonymously safe in the knowledge that their identity will not be revealed.
"It could be vital in helping police to bring this person to justice”.
Information can be passed anonymously via 0800 555 111 or through our anonymous online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org
A 27-year-old woman arrested in connection with the investigation is due to answer bail tomorrow after being arrested at the weekend.
