Residents have just days left to have their say on how recycling centres should change.

Essex County Council is running a survey about the service, which will finish on Easter Sunday.

There are currently 21 recycling centres across the county, which cost about £6.4m per year.

County councillor Roger Walters, cabinet member for waste and recycling, said: “We want to continue to provide the very best recycling services for residents, but maintaining expenditure at existing levels in the current financial climate is unsustainable, and we have to look at where efficiency savings could be made.”

Residents will be formally consulted before any changes are made to services.
The survey is available at essex.gov.uk/recycling centres or at libraries and recycling centres.
