Tesco is set to be refused planning permission for a controversial supermarket.
Braintree Council planners recommended councillors oppose the 2,825m2 store off Halstead High Street when they make a decision on Tuesday.
The council is one of eight landowners who own the site Tesco wants to build on and is spearheading its redevelopment.
A total of 135 objection letters, plus the petition, and five letters of support were sent to the council.
