Villagers could lose their community hall unless volunteers come forward to run it.
Tommy Gaw, 83, has been treasurer for Sible Hedingham Village Hall for about 40 years but is leaving the post in March.
Chairman Owen Hawkes, who has served about 25 years on the six-member committee, also wants to step down this year.
Mr Hawkes said the hall would have to shut without a treasurer and the chairman needs to be replaced with someone who holds a personal licence or is willing to take the licensing course so that the bar can continue to operate.
Volunteers should call Mr Hawkes on 07707 613092.
