A mum with multiple sclerosis has been left humiliated after petrol station staff would not let her use a nearby toilet in an emergency.
Lisa Scrimshaw, 34, has progressive MS, which means at times she is unable to control her bladder and is prone to sudden bouts of needing to go to the toilet.
But when the problem hit at Sainsbury’s petrol station, in Tollgate, last Wednesday, staff said she would not be allowed to use their toilet because of staff safety policies.
As a result, she was left to wet herself in the middle of the store.
“You cannot imagine the humiliation and embarrassment it has caused me,” said Mrs Scrimshaw, of Mitchell Avenue, Halstead.
