Members of Braintree Mencap recently completed a swim to raise money for the charity
A charity is to make a film about its work.
Braintree Mencap was chosen by the Untold Stories scheme, run by national communications charity Media Trust with Sainsbury’s and Google.
It teams film-makers with charities to create professional films about the impact of their work.
Braintree Mencap was formed more than 50 years ago to help people with a learning disability and their families and supports more than 800 children and adults with a learning disability across Braintree, Witham and Halstead.
It recently fought to save its children’s playscheme from closure after losing funding from Essex County Council and the NHS.
The films will be broadcast on Media Trust’s national television channel, Community Channel in the spring and distributed online.
