Halstead: Councillor praises workmen who helped wife after collision
A grandmother suffered a broken leg, cuts and bruises after she was in collision with a car in Earls Colne.
Jill Hazell, 59, was taken to Colchester General Hospital where she remains in a stable condition after colliding with a green Citroen AX in Church Hill, on Tuesday.
Mrs Hazell, of Queens Road, Earls Colne, is married to parish councillor Chris Hazell, who was one of the first people on the scene after the incident.
He has praised two powerline maintenance workers who rushed to his wife's aid before the emergency services arrived.
