Braintree: Launch of new stalls and loyalty card to boost economy

Celebrations after Braintree was awarded Portas Pilot cash
New market stalls will be opening up next week to kickstart schemes to boost Braintree town centre.
Start-up stalls selling vintage clothes, homemade chocolate and cakes, jewellery and crafts will be among those setting in Market Street, near Tesco, on Friday.
It marks the launch of the Portas Pilot project, which saw Braintree receiving a share of a £1.2million Government pot to encourage more shops and stalls to move into Braintree, support existing
businesses, and attract more shoppers.
Residents can also pick up an Indi card, a free loyalty card scheme to encourage shoppers to support the town’s independent retailers and businesses.
The event runs from 10am to 2pm.
