A new headteacher has been announced at Halstead’s only secondary school and is set to tackle problems outlined in the latest Ofsted report.

Daniel Gee will join Ramsey College as head in September for next academic year and hopes it will become a school people in the town are proud of.

He will replace Mike Murray, who had been head at Ramsey College for almost seven years.

Mr Gee, who has been deputy headteacher at Notley High School and Braintree Sixth Form for the last two years, said he is excited about taking on the new role.
