Halstead: Young cricketers wanted for fun tournament
3:40pm Saturday 23rd June 2012 in News
Essex and England's Alastair Cook in action
Budding cricketers wanting to be the next Alastair Cook or Jimmy Anderson will be taking part in an annual children’s competition.
Earls Colne Cricket Club is holding its Kwik Cricket competition at the Recreation Club on Friday.
Among the competitors will be teams from Coggeshall, Copford and Rayne, as well as three from Earls Colne.
The club are also hoping that an all-girls team will be entering for the first time.
Training sessions at the club have been well-supported, and the competition will give children the chance to put the skills they have learned into action in a match situation.
The event starts at 6pm, with a barbecue and refreshments available.
To take part in the tournament, call coach Dave Brooker on 07789 202161 to confirm your child’s place.
