Heartless thieves stole a family heirloom from a man after he stopped to help them in the snow.
John Andrus from Hilton Way, Sible Hedingham was driving home from work on Tuesday when he was flagged down by a family, claiming their car had broken down.
He pulled over and a man got in to his van who tried to offer him payment for petrol by putting a gold chain round his neck.
Mr Andrus, 40, refused the jewellery and the thief jumped out of his van and got back in to his own car.
