Television viewers in Halstead are being warned of the consequences if they try to watch their favourite shows without a licence.
Figures show that 64 people in the town were caught by the authorities last year.
It is estimated that one in 20 households across the country continue to evade the authorities.
Pauline Gillingham, TV Licensing spokesman for the South East, said: “People are given every opportunity to pay, but, if they fail to do so and watch TV illegally, we will seek a prosecution.”
