Neighbours have leapt to the defence of a serial offender, saying he should not have been jailed.
Christopher Agombar, of Cutting Drive, Halstead has been put behind bars after breaking the terms of his anti-social behaviour order (ASBO) and assaulted police.
A court heard how Agombar, 36, had 71 previous convictions, ranging from being drunk to assaulting police.
His latest matters landed him with a ten-month prison sentence when he appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court on Monday.
