AN ANTIQUE diamond and sapphire ring was one of the £5,000 worth of items stolen from a village house.
The unusual diamond shaped ring, known as a marquee ring, as well as a garnet ring, a nine carat gold chain necklace and gated gold bracelet, and a sapphire and pearl brooch, were all stolen from the house in Pebmarsh Road, Colne Engaine.
The 61 year old woman who owned the jewellery is also missing a golf themed pendant, ruby earrings and a white gold bracelet with small diamonds in.
She said all of it was “special occasion” wear, some of which she was given for her wedding more than 40 years ago and she was very upset someone had stolen it.
