New town centre manager's hopes for Halstead market

A NEW town centre manager hopes to rejuvenate Halstead by transforming its market A bustling market with plenty of stalls is the vision held by Chris Trim, who has been employed by Braintree Council to boost footfall in the town centre.

It will be part of his job to tackle the problems which have caused Halstead’s market to dwindle to just a few stalls on a Friday and Saturday.

Mr Trim said: “The market in Halstead needs help and support to grow.

“The chamber of commerce and strategy group see it as an important asset but not in its current form, in a bigger thriving form."
