Youngsters used an X Factor format to suggest improvements to their villages.
Braintree Council invited pupils from Bulmer St Andrews, Ridgewell Primary School, St Peter’s Primary School in Sible Hedingham and Belchamp St Paul Primary School to the event at Causeway House, Braintree.
In true X Factor style, the children voted for each others’ ideas and the winning suggestions were to have more footpaths in Bulmer and speed bumps in Ridgewell.
The ideas will now be passed to councillors on the Halstead Local Committee and fed into a consultation process.
