Hundreds of geese have been descending on a village.
Preparation for the Gosfield Goose Trail is well underway and youngsters have already started painting their flocks of polystyrene birds.
Over the weekend of September 5 and 6, hundreds of visitors are expected to visit the village to marvel at 1,500 life-size decorated geese.
The replica birds have been manufactured in Peterborough and the first batch have just been transported back to Halstead.
St Margaret’s Preparatory School, Gosfield, recently took a delivery of 262 birds.
Ramsey College, Gosfield Community Primary School and Gosfield School pupils will also be decorating geese and the flocks will go on display at the three Gosfield schools.
Geese will also be on show at St Catherine’s Church and in many residents’ gardens.
Organiser Georgie Roy, who also staged the scarecrow trails, said: “I think the village is going to look brilliant."
This trail celebrates the name of the village which comes from Goose Field.
