Hundreds of cyclists came together to take part in an annual fundraising event.
The Holmes and Hills Solicitors Charity Bike Ride saw 256 people set off from Halstead High Street on a ride around the Braintree district.
Riders took on routes ranging from 11 to 53 miles.
Those taking on the toughest rides were able to enjoy complimentary snacks at the halfway mark in Braintree and Bocking Public Gardens.
After completing their circuits and returning to Halstead, each rider was also treated to a barbecue provided by Holmes and Hills Solicitors.
This year’s ride has already so far raised £5,267 for and that figure could yet rise further.
Proceeds will be shared between Age UK and the Braintree and Bocking Public Gardens.
Phil Davies, of Holmes and Hills, said: “We have been overwhelmed by people’s generosity and support for the Holmes and Hills Charity Bike Ride.
“We’re pleased we’ve been able to raise such a fantastic amount forto be split between two very worthwhile causes and we thank all of those that helped us by volunteering, spreading the word or taking part. It really is a community effort to make it happen.”
Holmes and Hills Solicitors, which has offices in Halstead, Sudbury, Braintree, Coggeshall and Tiptree, has been running its annual bike ride since 2005.
