Halstead's last remaining public toilets are set to be given a facelift.
The facilities in Kings Road will be refurbished after town councillors agreed to a proposal which will see volunteers paint the outside, and a contractor paid to refurbish the inside.
All materials needed to paint the external walls are expected to set the town council back £200, while the cost of refurbishing the inside of the toilets is not known.
As part of the revamp, a new ceiling will be fitted, along with panelling, flooring and a wider range of equipment will be brought in for disabled users.
Baby changing facilities will also be installed in two of the three toilets.
Work is expected to start imminently with a report stating volunteers will begin painting the outside of the building from mid-August.
