Staff at a cat welfare charity are raising funds so a kitten can have a life-changing operation.

Rudolf, the 12-week-old black kitten from Colne Valley, gets regular urine infections that became more severe if he does not receive an antibiotic injection.

Exploratory surgery revealed he will need an operation when he is five months old.

Volunteers from the Colne Valley Branch of Cats Protection need help funding Rudolf’s veterinary care.

As a volunteer-run branch, which receives no external funding, the team has set up a fundraising campaign to pay for Rudolf’s operation.

Volunteer fosterer and fundraising team leader, Shelley Naylor, said: “Rudolf is a gorgeous, fun-loving kitten but his infections have left him in a lot of pain.

“This surgery will make such a difference to his quality of life so he can have the best start and grow into a playful young cat without constant injections.

“We will be looking for a loving new home for him as soon as he has fully recovered.”

Any additional money raised will be used to help the other cats at the branch.
