A new gym will be opening its doors in less than two months after moving its premises to Halstead.

Leman’s Gym will open in Bluebridge Industrial Estate in September, while its Bocking branch will also remain open.

The 5,500 sq ft gym will bring between ten and 20 jobs to the town after it was granted planning permission on July 4.

Owner, Scott Leman, established his business when he was just 19 before opening at Notley Golf Club and Braintree Hockey Club.

He said: “The Leman’s team is very excited about our expansion to Halstead, and want to say a huge thank you to Halstead and to Braintree Council for approving our application.

“We have begun renovation works on the unit and ordered equipment is already going in.

“Our new Halstead facility will be modern themed and vibrant. We aim to create a gym environment where anyone of any age or ability feels welcome, breaking this stigma of gyms being intimidating places.

“The success and future of Leman’s gyms will pivot on Halstead’s progression.

“We expect our aim will be bringing another great Leman’s facility to another isolated district across Essex.”
