An inspirational artist has taken his work on the road as he continues his remarkable recovery from a severe stroke.

Chris Jiggins, of Head Street, Halstead, launched his new venture during the Colne Engaine Festival where he displayed and sold pieces of his work to members of the public.

Mr Jiggins, 41, suffered a stroke in February 2017 which left him with little movement in the right side of his body.

Unable to return to work as a window fitter, he has launched a new career as an artist as he continues his rehabilitation.

Having now been given the all clear to get back on the roads again, Mr Jiggins will take his artwork on a tour of East Anglia in a campervan previously used for holidays with young son Parker, and partner Natalie Creevy.

Speaking after the launch of of his summer tour at the Colne Engaine Festival, he said: “It went really, it was great to see everything that I have been working towards come together.

“I’m really happy how it’s all set up and I am picking up commission from people. It was very much a trial run to get the stall and the driving right and to get used to loading the van.“I think I will learn as I go forward but I was very pleased with the whole day.”

The next stop on Mr Jiggins’ tour is the Maldon Mud Race, which takes place this Sunday. He also plans to attend summer events set to be held in Long Melford and Cressing.
