A developer has received permission to build 37 new homes in a village.
Braintree Council has approved Croudace Homes Ltd's final plans to create the new estate at land off Braintree Road, Great Bardfield.
The proposals will see 14 of the properties designated as affordable, and offered for shared ownership and at low rents.
A planning statement reads: "A community involvement exercise was undertaken in November 2017 by way of a leaflet drop to neighbouring properties, which gave residents the opportunity to comment on the new development by either email, post or telephone.
"Additional information was also published.
"The response to the exercise was relatively low with only a few emails received. The majority of responses were with regard to boundary treatment."
Great Bardfield Parish Council did not object to the scale and layout of the designs, but said it would monitor the estate as it progresses.
Outline planning permission was granted for the new estate in October 2016.
