Friends of Halstead Public Gardens would like to thank you all for coming and taking part in our May Day celebrations.

We really appreciate your support and hope your organisations, charity, pre-school or school, had a successful day.

All the visitors to our beautiful Public Gardens enjoyed the fantastic Maypole dancing by Richard de Clare Academy and Holy Trinity School.

Thank you to the Ramsey Academy who entertained us all for an hour on the bandstand.

Classic cars and motorbikes on the picnic area proved a big hit too, and so a big thank you to the owners who kindly exhibited their wonderful vehicles.

Each year May Day gets better and better and this year we managed to hold it on the hottest May Day for many years.

The sun did not stop all you lovely people from Halstead coming out and joining us.

May Queen Millie Livesey and Princess Amber Harvey enjoyed a special morning having their hair styled by Sara and makeup applied by Kerry.

A big thank you to Dale from Dale’s Hair Salon for allowing us to use his premises for this occasion and being on hand to help in anyway.

One of the highlights of the day for them is also their arrival in a limousine, kindly donated by Daniel Robinson and Sons and driven with such care by Terry.

Thank you all so much. Without such generosity, this event could not take place.

Neither would the afternoon be the same without Jim Davis, our master of ceremonies, keeping the performers to programme, while visiting every stall, ensuring everyone knew what was going on.

Thank you, Jim you did an incredible job, and we are very grateful.

Finally, it has become somewhat of a tradition that Halstead Templars Rugby Club finish the afternoon off with a tug of war. Again, an event appreciated and enjoyed by the crowd.

Once again thank you and we look forward to seeing you next year.
