Hundreds of people flocked to Halstead Public Gardens to celebrate a traditional event.
This year’s May Day celebrations saw large crowds come together to enjoy the warm weather and entertainment on offer.
The event began with the crowning of May Queen Millie Livesey, before a toy themed fancy dress parade took place.
School students then took centre stage with Maypole dancing and live music from the bandstand.
Those attending were also able to enjoy a host of stalls on offer, as well as classic cars which were out on display.
Town Mayor Shirley Diver said: “It went really well and everyone seemed to have a lot of fun.
“The schools were fabulous and the music and dancing was very professional, you could see the teachers and pupils had put a lot of work into it.
“It was great to see so many people there. You never know how many will turn up, especially with the weather being so warm.
“But everyone got involved and joined in so it was a great day for Halstead.”
“I want to thank everyone who took part, not only those who organised it, but also the people who came along because without the public’s support events like these wouldn’t take place.”
