A thief has been fined after stealing eight bottles of spirits from a shop in Halstead.
Benjamin Poulter, 32, of Geoffrey Blackwell Close, Coggeshall, stole £256 of booze from Sainsbury's, in High Street, Halstead, on Saturday, March 24.
He pleaded guilty to theft at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on Tuesday, May 1, and was fined £80.
He was also ordered to pay costs of £115 to the court.
Poulter also broke the conditions of a community order and was ordered to pay another £140.
