Volunteers kept a close watch as children took their chance to try their hands at all sorts of railway activities.
As part of the East Anglian Railway Museum’s day on the railways, the youngsters operated the crossing gates, got the chance to have a go at being a train guard and were also able to learn all about how Chappel Station’s historic signalling box works.
Marketing manager Catherine Harrison said: “It’s like a mini-version of our Railway Experience Days, but for kids. It has really caught people’s imagination and places are booking up fast.”
