THE Easter bunny made a belated trip to Ramsey for a charity egg hunt.

The Ramsey Easter Egg Hunt was rescheduled from the beginning of the month due to poor weather.

But despite some rain and a fair amount of mud, it went ahead on Sunday.

About 150 children and their families took part in the event at Ramsey War Memorial field off Wix Road.

Suzanne Howe, from the War Memorial Hall committee, said: "It was wet in the morning for us setting up but it came good in the afternoon - the ground was very muddy though.

"We welcomed close to 150 children and their families along with the Easter Bunny and our mascot Ramsey Bear.

"The children enjoyed a treasure hunt to gain an Easter egg followed by games to win sweets and we served refreshments too."

BWild Adventures put on a crafts area and Sophie Munnery ran an interactive storytime to help raise funds for Maisy.

Bounce Bounce set up inflatables and donated takings to Maisy's fund.

Suzanne added: "We are hugely grateful to Morrisons Harwich for their ongoing support and donations and their community champion, Cally Short who was in attendance with a tombola stall raising funds for their charity partner, CLIC Sargent.

"All in all a great, if somewhat muddy afternoon and we are hugely grateful to everyone who supported, especially our volunteers for all their hard work.

"We raised a fantastic £440 for Ramsey War Memorial Hall Charity."
