RESIDENTS young and old came together to have fun at a community hall.

Halstead Connected, which was organised by The Young Foundation, offered visitors the chance to take part in a range of fun activities, as well as offering some much-needed social interaction.

The event formed part of a three-month review into the causing and effects of loneliness of residents living in Halstead.

Research findings were briefly discussed along with how the Halstead community could help promote social interaction.

A variety of volunteer groups such as Halstead in Bloom were present at Queens Hall to help run stalls offering refreshments, knitting, face painting and plenty more.

Event organiser Isabel Young said: “The vibe was really lovely overall and we had some really interesting conversations with everyone”.

Anyone with ideas on how to help tackle social isolation in Halstead is asked to contact The Young Foundation.

An action planning meeting reviewing the issue will take place on Tuesday, April 10, from 3pm until 5pm.
