MEDICAL experts working in theatre at Broomfield Hospital have retained a prestigious accreditation.

Following a three-day inspection, the International Organisation for Standardisation has recognised the department’s quality management system.

In order to continue to maintain the accolade, the organisation had to demonstrate an ability to consistently provide services which meet the standards.

Theatre matron Nick Archer said it was a testament to the hard work of his staff and said he was delighted to carry on with the honour.

He said: “This means we remain one of the very few, if not the only, operating departments in the United Kingdom to hold such an accreditation.

“This is a great achievement and is a credit to all of the staff involved.”
