CHOIRS from across Essex came together for a big-hearted fun day to raise money for charity.

Big Sing held the event at Maldon Town Hall on Saturday with singing and free entertainment.

Visitors were treated to refreshments, cakes, tombola, craft stalls, games and face painting.

There were also taster Tiny Sing workshops for little ones to get involved in. In total £1,183 was raised for the choir’s Big Sing Soul charity.

Gemma Francis, founder of Big Sing, said: “We want to capture what we have created in our Big Sing Choirs and take it to those who can’t come to us, giving more people in our community an opportunity to sing motivating songs when they may not have considered it before and to enjoy the therapeutic qualities singing has. The Big Sing Choir is already living proof that by uniting together there is power in community.”

Maldon Carnival supported the event.
