MALDON District Council is supporting and hosting the ACE Lifestyle My Weight Matters programme for community attendance.
It is an established service and an initiative funded by Essex County Council. The programme is an informative and interactive weight management scheme held over 12 weeks.
Participants are able to attend a weekly weigh-in session at the council offices every Wednesday morning between 9.30am and 10.30am to monitor progression.
During the 12 week programme the guide topics include:
The importance of regular eating and breakfast
Eating a healthy balanced diet
Managing your portion sizes
Being more active in daily life
Reasons why we may eat when we are not hungry
Food labels – busting the myths
Bob Boyce MBE, chairman of community services, said: “Over the last few months the council has made several announcements about how it supports people to make healthy choices and lead active lives including promoting the #WarmMaldon Campaign, organising the Maldon District Sports Awards, winning the Active Work Place of the Year award and the launch of the Livewell Campaign and website.
"This is another example of how the council works with partner agencies to strengthen communities to be active and healthy.”
