MALDON District Council is inviting people to share ideas for new events and activities for public spaces.

The council wants to launch “Summer in the Maldon District 2018” as an initiative to bring more events to the district.

Each year thousands of visitors and tourists choose to spend their time in the Maldon district, creating significant opportunities for new and existing businesses.

The district saw great success in August last year when the Smoke and Fire Festival was launched at Promenade Park, which brought in dozens of businesses from around the district and county, plus hundreds of visitors.

The council are inviting expressions of interest from people and organisations who would like to bring new events, activities or food concessions to the council owned district parks and public spaces.

A spokesman said: “Do you run a mobile rock climbing wall, Segways, ice cream stalls or juice bar? Are you a comic, musician or family entertainer? Do you want to reach thousands of new customers? We would love to hear from you.

“Opportunities exist across various district parks and open spaces from just £15 per day. Including Promenade Park, Riverside Park, Hythe Quay, the Oak Tree Meadow & Elms Farm Park, and more than 20 other parks and open spaces throughout the district.”

Interested people should contact events@maldon.gov.uk or call 01621 854477.
