Patients are being encouraged to get involved in the future direction of a village surgery.

Jim Bond, chairman of Earl Colne's Pumphouse Surgery's Patient Participation Group (PPG), said the group needs new members more than ever.

He said: "With increasing pressures currently facing the National Health Service it is more important than ever that patients feel that they know more about the surgery and the way it works, as well as find ways to influence the way local health services develop.

"The Pumphouse Patient Participation Group is one way to do this.

"Members meet either face to face or speak via email for virtual discussions and so far has contributed to informing the practice about its services and also helped at the Flu clinics."

To register with the PPG, you need to be a member of the surgery and over 16.
